Profile: Gary Cavett first caught the rally bug in the mid 80’s when it was learned that there was an extreme form of motor sport where a driver/co driver and a production based car raced on REAL roads. The group B era was coming to an end and those one off production specials with high hp and all wheel drive grabbed his attention. As the years went by interest grew in all different forms of motor sports, but the idea of racing on real roads in a real car was too good to pass up. In the early 90’s as the Internet came to be commonplace, more information on this sport could finally be sourced. From there, plans were made to one day go rallying as soon as it could be afforded.

1998

• By July of 1998 purchased first Pro Rally Car 1985 Subaru RX Turbo 4x4   

 

1999

• Started racing SCCA Rallycross, and SCCA Club Rallies.

• 1999 SCCA Northwest Region Rally Cross Open class -2^nd place

2000

• 2000 SCCA Oregon Region Rally Cross Open class Champion

• 2000 SCCA Northwest Region Club Rally Class 3 Drivers Champion

2001

• Feb 2001 – Built  2^nd Pro Rally Car– a Subaru Impreza 1.8L awd 

• 

• Sept 2001 3^rd place in PGT Class at Wild West Pro Rally WA

• 2001 SCCA Northwest Region Rally Cross PGT Class – 2^nd Overall

• 2001 SCCA Northwest Region Club Rally PGT Class 2^d Overall

• 2001 SCCA Northwest Region Club Rally Class 2 Driver – 4^th Place

2002

• Feb 2002 – Built  Impreza for open class adding 2.0T engine.

• 2002 SCCA Northwest Region Club Rally Open Class  – 2^nd Overall

• 2^nd Place overall (based on stage times) in Oregon Trail Club OR

• 3^rd Place overall in the Dryad Quest Club Rally WA

• 1^st Place overall In the Mt Hood Club Rally OR                                                      

2003

• 2003 SCCA Northwest Region Club Rally Open Class  – 2^nd Overall

• 2003 Western States Rally Championship Open Class – 5^th Overall

• 1^st Place overall In the Workers Rallysprint WA

• 3rd Place overall In the Wild West Club Rally WA

• 3rd Place overall In the Mt Hood Club Rally OR

2004

• 3rd Place overall In the DooWop Club Rally WA

• 3rd Place overall In the Mountain Trials Rally BC Canada

• 1^st & 2^nd  overall in NWR rally Sprints WA

2005
